What connections / opinions can you make with the information in the video: A World in a Village?

  1. The connection's that I can make is about Haiti and Business day. In Haiti millions of children aren't abe to get an education that they deserve and some children have to drop out of school because they have to walk miles and miles to find water for their families.

  2. The connections that I can make with this video is from Business Day which connects to Haiti. In Haiti lot's of children's and families are facing poverty. Children does not have access to education. Some children have to work. For example, they have to cook for there family with dirty water, that will contaminate the food.

  3. A connection I can make with this video is about how we learned from Business Day that children in Haiti are living in poverty. For example, many don't have the basic life necessities like clean drinkable water, shelter, clothing, and food. Also, in the video when it said only 1 person out of the 100 people had a college education I made a connection to the children in Haiti and how many of them don't have access to education.

  4. One connection/opinion I made with the information in this video is something we learned from Business Day, Haiti.
Millions of citizens in Haiti are suffering from poverty, not having clean water to drink, education, and healthcare. For example 2.8 citizens gets paid $2 per day. Gaining $2 is not enough to buy the resources you need survive.

  5. A connection I can make with the information provided in this video is the purpose of Business Day. We did Business day because we wanted to bring about change and awareness of the issues in Haiti, Such as poverty, as stated in the video, "53 villagers would live in less then $2 a day." Living on $2 a day would not even help provide the resources to survive.(2:09). And most importantly, the lack of education in Haiti. Also, as stated in the video"18 would be unable to read or write" (2:16). To be able to be educated would help develop their local community/ village.

  6. The connection to Business Day and to the video is that we are donating all our money to Haiti and FTC pillar of education and what this video is saying is that more people would be less fortunate if the world was much smaller. What were not noticing and taking to heart is that we are very fortunate to live in north america where we have a lot of needs given to us because we live in Canada

  7. A connection I can make with the information provided in this video is Business Day.The money we raise from Business Day is going to free the children to help Haiti, and many children in Haiti can't go to school.Since they can't go to school, they have to stay home and work.

  8. When I was watching"A World In A Village" a connection that I made was how we are supporting Haiti, in Business Day and B.T.C. The video also relates to Free the Children, and the 5 pillars of Sustainability because at one point it gives a fact for each. For example, 18 would be unable to read or write, 33 would have a cell phone and ONLY ONE WOULD HAVE A COLLEGE EDUCATION.

  9. Some connections that I can make to the video " World In A Village " is that it relates to Business Day and the Pillar Of Education. It relates to the Pillar of Education because according to the video 18 would not be able to read or write.

  10. When I was watching "A World in a Village" one opinion that i had was that i was surprised that more then about 64% of the people would have inadequate sensitization and that 1% have a college education. A connection that i can make is that the video relates to the work we did in Business Day.

  11. As i was watching this video a connection i made was learning about Business day and how children in Haiti are in poverty. An example is that people in Haiti don't have access to clean safe drinkable water, also shelter, food, and clothing, or education because they have to work all day to get water from long distances away fro their homes. Another connection i can make is when it said in the video " 1 in a 100 people have college education" a connection to this is that how many children do not have access to education which is a lot of children.

  12. while watching this video ''a world in a village''I noticed and made a connection to my schema that by the video creating the scenario that there are only 100 people in the world made it easier to comprehend the statistics in the video.one of the statistics was that ''if you have food in your refrigerator, clothes in your closet,a bed to sleep on and a roof over your head, you are richer than 75%of the world'' . which would mean 75 people do not have these things.another thing is that the video stated that 1-100 people have a college education which I find terrible because so few have high education.

  13. The connections that i can make from the video is the research that we have done for business day on Haiti, and how some people in Haiti live in extreme conditions, According to the video, in a village of 100 people would have 33 people have no access to safe drinking water, that could mean that 33% of Haiti don't have safe drinking water. Furthermore, people will die of starving, drinking non-safe water, caused by poverty. Haiti can be very similar to the village the video is describing.

  14. A connection that I can make is children and adults living in developing countries such as Haiti. People living in Haiti have limited access to a good quality education, food to consume, safe drinking water or a stable shelter to live in. Haiti can be compared to the video "World in a Village" because many do not have what we have here living in Canada.

  15. The connection I can make from the video is the five pillars and Haiti. For example in the video it said 33 people would have no access to safe drinking water, which connects to the clean water and sanitization pillar and is a big problem in Haiti. Also, 18 people would be unable to read or write and only ONE PERSON would have a college education. That connects to the education pillar and us helping build a school in Haiti to stop that problem.

  16. The connection I can make to the video is to eco team and the five pillars of sustainability from Free The Children. It connects to eco team because it talks about how lucky we are to have electricity, phones computers, ect. and how we should conserve our resources. Also, it connects to the five pillars of sustainability because it talks about clean water, food, health care, and education.

  17. The connection I can make from this video is that 100 people in the village could be trying to explain out of 100 people, such as out of 100 people in the world 18 of them have a car.Meaning that about 80% of the world don't have a transportation tool so they would have to walk long distances to get something or visit a place. In conclusion i think the video is trying to explain out of 100 people in the world.

  18. The connection i can make to the video is the people in Haiti. Those statistics in the video like 1 person would go to college would probably be smaller in Haiti because they are still a developing country. It tells us how lucky we are to live in Canada and have an access to education and electronics because most places around the world dont have that.

  19. Connections that I can make to this video are all the fundraising that we have done at BTC and for business day. My opinions about this video is that it is a very eye opening video, I think that sometimes we don't realize how lucky we are to be living where we are. We don"t realize how privileged we are to have all that we have even the simplest things that we don't even think about like access to clean, safe drinking water.

  20. Something I toke away from this video " A World In a Village " is that looking at our world in a perspective like this, it looks as if the issues ( i. e. hunger and povery ) are amplified and gives us an overall understanding of how it would look like if there were only 100 people in the world. This connects to the Five Pillars of Sustainabilty and helps me understand more about the pillars and how people around the world lack necessitties that we take for granted.

  21. My connection to this video is when they said if you have a roof over your head and food in the refrigerator and a bed to sleep in you are richer than 75% of the world. I am very fortunate to have these things and clean water and sanitation and an education. I wish everybody were this fortunate.

  22. There are many connections I made after watching the video "A world in village". First of all, everybody who lives in Canada is aware that we are fortunate to live in such an amazing country. However, people don't realize that small things such as having a bed to sleep on, having a roof over your head, access to safe drinking water, education, and all of those necessities in some places you would be considered rich. In Canada the majority of our population has access to all of these necessities and the other things they have are things they don't need, but things they want such as fancy clothes, video games, and vacations. These are all wants not needs. This video helped inform me how lucky I really am to live in Canada and have so many special things in my life compared to some people around the world.

  23. One connection that I made is to Business Day, is that we learned about people around the world who are facing things such as poverty, surviving without clean water and sanitation or even all of those things. Places like Haiti is currently facing those kinds of things everyday. In our country Canada, we are a very lucky country because we are able to get education, clean water and food, have a home and a comfy place to sleep.

  24. some connections i can make after watching this video are the 5 pillars of freedom and Haiti.Firstly, i can relate to the five pillars of freedom because it states that many of us wouldn't have access to an education and education is one of the 5 pillars, and many children still don't have access to education. Also i can make a connection to Haiti because in the video it states that 53 people would live on less than two dollars a day and most people in Haiti live on two dollars a day.

  25. A connection that i made to the video is that is you have a roof over your, food in your frige and cloths in your closet your richer then 75% of the world that connects to me because i do have these things so kids that do not have those thing are un fortunate but i wish everyone is as fortunate as me

  26. A connection that I made was with Haiti because Haiti is in deep poverty, lack of education, gender and equality, and starvation and they aren't as fortunate because we have all the technology and were not in poverty, starvation, gender and equality and we have and education.

  27. The connection I made towards the video is that like Haiti many other countries are going through the issue with poverty, poor sheltering and water supply, and security problems. I have sympathy towards the people who are going through the daily struggle to survive to make ends meet. I used to live in a 3rd country and I've witness poverty and poor sanitation first hand. My thinking of 75% of people not having shelter or neither food and proper health care makes me wanting to raise money for poverty and equality in all developing countries if the world! :)

  28. Something I toke away from this video " A World In a Village " is that looking at our world with the perspective of being in one village , it takes on as if the issues of the world at the moment is all coming in to one place where we are not given fair chances to survive and gives me an overall understanding of how it would look like if there were only 100 people in the world. To me this connects to the Five Pillars of Sustainability and helps me understand more about how the pillars and how some people around the world lack necessities (e.g. variety of food, internet) that some people don't really know about.

  32. A connection I can make with the information in the video "A World in a Village is from" is from B/D when we researched about haiti's disabilities. In the video it said 33 would have no access to a clean and safe drinking water, and we were researching about that haiti does not have access to a clean and safe drinking water when we were preparing for B/D.

  34. A connection I can make from watching "A world in a village" is that it relates to business day. This relates to Business Day because we were learning about and promoting equality. In the video, it said if you have a roof over your head, food in your refrigerator, clothes in your closet and a bed to sleep on you are richer then 75% of the world. This allowed me to see how much we take for granted in our everyday lifestyle. It also relates to the five pillars because in the village of 100 only a couple have certain things. For example, only 1 person out of 100 will have a college education therefore relating to the Education Pillar.
