This inquiry question should help you make connections to the big idea question as well as make connections on the positive and negative impacts on that community within Canada.

Refer to the guiding question below and engage in conversation with your parent(s) and other family members:

"What reasons did your family (ancestors) have for immigrating to Canada?"

It will be interesting to see how far back we may be able to go as Canadians.
